Lizzo and Wilson looked to Dolce & Gabbana to bring their visions to life. Wilson says Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were the perfect creative partners. “The inspirations we were drawing from, and the feelings we wanted to evoke, all felt inherently Dolce & Gabbana from the start,” says Wilson. “The opulence, the attention to detail, the uniqueness of fabric and materials, and one of a kind pieces it all brought Dolce & Gabbana to mind. It felt like the perfect collaboration for Lizzo’s big Grammy night.”
Lizzo’s big fashion night began with a walk on the red carpet in an orange silk Mikado opera coat that was entirely embroidered with silk flowers. She wore it over a silk corseted gown embellished with Swarovski crystal mesh, for added shape. “The bright, vibrant color of the red carpet look felt really special and appropriate for the bright shining star Lizzo is,” says Wilson. Once inside, Lizzo changed into a custom silver lamé ruched dress with sculptural shoulder sleeves to accept her Record of the Year award.
